Room 7 Reading
We have a new wall that shows all the different strategies and things to remember when we are reading. Its great to refer to and think about what we do and could do while reading a story.
Athletics Day
What a beautiful day we had for our Athletics day. Thank you to all the supporters that were able to attend. We had a great turnout. Our school focus was on making personal progress. After lunch the school leaders took us through different games and activities.
Buddy Time
Our buddy class helped us to fill in a school survey on bullying. Whaea Ange read a story to the students who had finished. We really enjoy the time we spend with our buddyclass. Thanks Room 1.
We have started buddy time with room 1. The students share news and read together. Room 7 really enjoyed our first time together. We will be meeting every Thursday in the library. So cool!
Maui and the Sun: Claytime
We started to paint our suns. Unfortunately when our sun's where drying some of them cracked and broke. This was fine though because we still had most of our sun to paint.
We have to leave our suns to dry over the holidays. When we return we will add colour with paint. We cant wait to bring them home.
After working on our clay skills we began our sun designs. We can't wait to share our designs after we have dried and painted.
WITS
When we have someone that bothers us we use our WITS. We made bookmarks to remember the steps to take.
Art
Its Claytime...
We have began working with clay. Experiencing the feel of clay both wet and dry. We rolled it, flattened it and created an animal with shape and texture. This is all a warm up. Stay tuned to see what we do next.
Week Eleven
Our last week and we are celebrating 100 days at school. Our theme was Dr Suess and we dress up as different characters from the book.
It was so much fun seeing everyone celebrating. We loved watching the seniors dance and the different costumes. Assembly was good because we watched a haka that was preformed to wish Mrs Langton all the best while she is away next term.
After assembly, we had activities to do in different classes. Room 7's activity was Tuffala Trees. The 'Things' took up one whole table. It was nice that they let the grinch sit too.

We have had a great start to the first week in Rm 7. Today we have had a visit from Constable Ross. He talked to Rm's 6,7 and 8 about bullying. We learnt that if people bully us we need to talk to someone who we trust. We talked about how people feel when they are bullied. It was so great to have Constable Ross come to visit. Thanks for teaching us how to keep safe!
Term One
Room 7 has 23 amazing students and 1 awesome teacher. The first term was all about getting to know each other. Learning our classroom routines and feeling safe to participate in learning. We had cultural exchange, physical education, and singing with the other classes. We made super progress in our reading writing and maths. We went to Pioneer Pool to learn more ways to stay safe in the water. It was great fun!! Big thanks to the parents that were available to help.
Room 7 was in the prime spot to watch the progression of the hungi pit. The senior boys were fantastic at helping Matua Bill. If you attended after school you would have tasted the yummy food. Here are some pictures from the day.
